A malignant osteogenic bone tumor. Tumor is formed of large cellular nodules of neoplastic cartilage with focal calcification. Some fragments show a pleomorphic population of rounded, oval, stellate and spindle cells. Anaplasia and mitosis are moderate. Picture in combination with radiological findings are consistent with conventional osteosarcoma, chondroblastic variant.

MRI stated a large metaphysical mass seen in the left femur measuring 16x14x13 cm, shows cortical destruction and soft tissue extension, invading the hip joint.
Soft tissue and bone fragments collectively measured 1.7x1.3x0.7 cm, totally embedded.
