Submitted biopsy showing focally ulcerated rectal mucosa with focally reduced mucigenic cells and moderate infiltration by lymphocytes, plasma cells and neutrophils. There is associated fibrosis. No evidence of crypt abscesses. No evidence of specific granulomas. No evidence of atypia or malignancy. Picture is consistent with solitary rectal ulcer.
Abdominal pain. Colonoscopy: multiple rectal ulcers.
