The sections reveal breast tissue with disrupted adipose tissue characterized by variably sized, anucleate adipocytes ("ghost cells") and cystic spaces resulting from lipid breakdown. A prominent histiocytic response is evident, featuring numerous foamy macrophages (lipophages) and scattered multinucleated foreign-body giant cells surrounding the necrotic fat globules. The background stroma demonstrates varying degrees of fibrosis and a chronic inflammatory infiltrate composed of lymphocytes and plasma cells. No evidence of atypia or malignancy.
