Endometrium is hyperplastic and non-secretory. It is formed of moderately branching glands separated by cellular stroma and lined by 1-2 layers of cells. Islands of these endometrial glands and stroma are seen entrapped superficial within myometrium. No evidence of complex glandular pattern. Cervix shows Nabothian cysts and mild endocervicitis. Rt and Lr ovaries show cystic follicle. Fallopian tubes are unremarkable. No evidence of specific granulomas. No evidence of atypia or malignancy.
Abnormal uterine bleeding. History of uterine polypectomy.
Panhysterectomy specimen; uterus measures 8.3x7.5x4.5 cm with myometrial thickness of 2.3 cm showing and endometrial thickness of 0.4 cm. Cervix is 2 cm, long. The Rt and Lt ovaries measured 3x1 8x1.3 cm and 2 5x1.5x1 cm, respectively, both are grossly unremarkable. The right and left fallopian tubes measured 5 cm and 6 cm in length, respectively, and are grossly unremarkable
