<ol><li>The ovarian cyst is lined by several layers of polygonal luteinized cells with focal interstitial hemorrhage into wall. No evidence of atypia or malignancy.</li><li>Smears are hemorrhagic and show a mild number of neutrophils and small lymphocytes with scattered histocytes No evidence of atypical or malignant cells.</li></ol>
<p>Right ovarian cystic mass.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">1- Received specimen in formalin fixative consisting of an opened cyst measuring 3x2x1 cm, showing a smooth surface. No fallopian tube identified.</p><p class="ql-align-justify">2- Received 20 ml of white-colored and viscous fluid, smeared on 2 slides and stained with pap stain for cytology examination.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Rt. ovarian cystectomy and aspiration cytology:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Hemorrhagic luteal cyst</strong></li><li><strong>Negative for malignancy. </strong></li></ul>
