Sections from all specimens revealed malignant tumor composed of infiltrating nests and groups of malignant squamous epithelial cells exhibiting moderate degree of anaplasia and mitosis with extracellular keratinization and squamous pearls formation. Extensive Lymphovascular permeation are noted. Tumor is deeply infiltrating to subcutaneous adipose tissue. Margins could not be assessed due to fragmented nature of the received specimen.
Submental and subclavicular ulcers. History of resection of Rt buccal mucosal ulcer.
Three containers were received :
1- Submental ulcer: Soft tissue fragments collectively measured 3.5x3x0.8 cm, the largest measuring 2x1.5x0.8 cm, totally embedded.
2- Supraclavicular ulcer: Partially skin covered soft tissue fragments collectively measured 3x2.5x0.7 cm, totally embedded
3- Lymph node dissection : Two soft tissue fragments measured 2x1.5x1.2 cm and 2.5x1.5x1.3 cm, totally embedded.
