<p class="ql-align-justify">1- Preparations show a dense population of neutrophils with some small lymphocytes as well as many cell debris. No evidence of atypical or malignant cells.</p><p class="ql-align-justify">2- Preparations show a moderate number of neutrophils and small lymphocytes with scattared reactive mesothelial cells. No evidence of atypical or malignant cells.</p>
<p>Rt pleural effusion with Lt pleural empyema.</p>
<p>Two samples were received:</p><p class="ql-align-justify">1- Rt pleural fluid sample: one smear was prepared and stained from submitted 1 ml pale yellow fluid with pus.</p><p class="ql-align-justify">2- Lt pleural fluid sample: one smear was prepared and stained from submitted 1 ml creany material.</p>
<p> <strong><em><u>Pleural fluid, cytology:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Rt. moderate inflammatory changes.</strong></li><li><strong>Lt. marked (suppurative) inflammatory changes.</strong></li><li><strong>Negative for malignant cells.</strong></li><li><strong>Category II according to The International System for Reporting Serous Fluid Cytology, ISRSFC.</strong></li></ul>
