Microscopic Description
Diagnosis
<p class="ql-align-justify">Gastric mucosa showing mild atrophy with focal ulceration and moderate to marked infiltration by lymphocytes and plasma cells. Neutrophils are seen infiltrating glands thus indicating activity. H. pylori characteristic forms are present. Areas of intestinal metaplasia is observed. There is no evidence of atypia or malignancy.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Epigastric pain. Endoscopy: panerythema gastropathy with small erosions.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Soft tissue fragments collectively measured 0.6x0.5 cm, totally embedded.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Gastric endoscopic biopsy :</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>H. pylori associated chronic active erosive gastritis with marked inflammatory activity and areas of intestinal metaplasia.</strong></li><li><strong>Negative for epithelial dysplasia and malignancy. </strong></li></ul>
