Diagnosis
<p class="ql-align-justify">1- Gastric mucosa showing mild atrophy and focal ulceration with moderate infiltration by lymphocytes and plasma cells. Neutrophils are seen infiltrating glands thus indicating activity. H. pylori characteristic forms are present. Areas of intestinal metaplasia is observed. There is no evidence of atypia or malignancy.</p><p class="ql-align-justify">2- Polypoid duodenal mucosa showing moderate infiltration by lymphocytes and plasma cells. Villi are intact and are negative for atrophy and ulceration. No evidence of specific granulomas. No evidence of malignancy.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Gastric erosive gastritis and duodenal sessile polyp.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Two biopsies were received:</p><p class="ql-align-justify">1- Gastric biopsy: soft tissue fragments collectively measured 0.4 cm, totally embedded.</p><p class="ql-align-justify">2- Duodenal biopsy: soft tissue fragments collectively measured 0.6 cm, totally embedded.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>(1) Gastric , endoscopic biopsy:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li class="ql-align-justify"><strong>H pylori associated chronic atrophic erosive gastritis with moderate inflammatory activity and areas of intestinal metaplasia. </strong></li><li class="ql-align-justify"><strong>Negative for dysplasia or malignancy. </strong></li></ul><p class="ql-align-justify"><br></p><p class="ql-align-justify"><strong><em><u>(2) Duodenum, endoscopic biopsy:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li class="ql-align-justify"><strong>Hyperplastic duodenal polyp, inflamed.</strong></li><li class="ql-align-justify"><strong>Negative for malignancy. </strong></li></ul>
