Both biopsies show fragments of oral mucosa covered by focally ulcerated stratified squamous epithelium exhibiting focal psoriasiform hyperplasia with elongated rete ridges. The underlying lamina propria is replaced by a moderate to dense, diffuse inflammatory infiltrate, composed of monotonous population consisting predominantly of sheets of mature plasma cells. Scattered dilated capillaries (vascular ectasia) are noted within the inflammatory infiltrate. There is no evidence of granulomas, viral inclusions, or malignancy.
