<p>Hemorrhagic preparations show a dense population of neutrophils with some small lymphocytes as well as many cell debris. No evidence of atypical or malignant cells.</p>
<p>Rt. Pelvic collection, inseparable from cecum and ileum, merging with tip of appendix.</p>
<p>Three slides were prepared and stained from submitted 2 ml bloody fluid.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Pelvic fluid, cytology:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Hemorrhagic with marked (suppurative) inflammatory changes.</strong></li><li><strong>Negative for malignant cells.</strong></li><li><strong>Category II according to The International System for Reporting Serous Fluid Cytology, ISRSFC.</strong></li></ul>
