1- A benign tumor formed of proliferating meningothelial cells with focal whorling. Cytoplasm is eosinophilic and abundant and cell borders are ill-defined. No evidence of atypia or malignancy. This is a WHO grade I meningioma.
2- Bone trabeculae are seen infiltrated by the tumor.
Patient presents with progressive left eye proptosis and visual disturbances associated with a left sphenoid wing mass.
Radiological findings suggest an en plaque meningioma extending into the orbit and encasing the left optic nerve.
Two undesignated biopsies were received:
1- Multiple soft tissue pieces collectively measured 2x1.8x0.5 cm, totally embedded.
2- Multiple soft tissue pieces collectively measured 2x1.8x0.6 cm, totally embedded.
Extra-axial sphenoid wing mass lesion, biopsy:
