Microscopic Description
Diagnosis
<p class="ql-align-justify">Core biopsy showing dense infiltration by neutrophils, lymphocytes, plasma cells and macrophages with some multinucleated giant cells. Scattered aggregates of epithelioid cells forming granulomas are seen but no evidence of caseation necrosis. For definitive exclusion of the possibility of a secondary infected tuberculosis, microbiological studies and skin testing and advised. No evidence of malignancy.</p>
<p>Enlarged left submandibular lymph node.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Tissue cores 0.2 to 0.7 cm long, totally embedded.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Lt. Submandibular lymph node, core biopsy:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Chronic suppurative granulomatous inflammation. </strong></li><li><strong>Negative for malignant cells.</strong></li><li><strong>Recommended for microbiological studies to establish the etiology. </strong></li></ul>
