Diagnosis
<p class="ql-align-justify">Thyroid gland shows nodular hyperplasia where follicles are variable in size, full of thick colloid and lined by mature epithelium. There is focal follicular cystic change. Stroma shows fibrosis, interstitial hemorrhage and cholesterol crystals deposition. No evidence of hyperfunction or malignancy.</p>
<p>Enlarged thyroid gland</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Total thyroidectomy specimen showing first lobe measuring 6x3x2 cm, second lobe measuring 6.5x5x2.8 cm and isthmus measured 1.5x1 cm. Thyroid capsule is intact. Serial sectioning revealed first lobe multiple nodules ranging in size from 0.2 cm to 2.5x2, and multiple nodules in the Lt lobe ranging in size from 0.9 cm to 2.5x2 cm.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Total thyroidectomy:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Nodular colloid hyperplasia. </strong></li><li><strong>Negative for malignancy. </strong></li></ul>
