Diagnosis
<p class="ql-align-justify">Thyroid gland shows nodular hyperplasia where follicles are variable in size, full of thick colloid and lined by mature epithelium. There is focal follicular cystic change. Stroma shows fibrosis, interstitial hemorrhage and cholesterol crystals deposition. No evidence of hyperfunction or malignancy.</p>
<p>Multinodular goiter.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Total thyroidectomy specimen: first lobe measured 5.5x3.5x2 cm and Lt thyroid lobe measured 3.5x2x1.7 cm. Thyroid capsule is intact. Serial sectioning revealed first lobe multiple nodules largest measured 1.5 cm, and second lobe multiple nodules largest measured 0.9 cm. Received separately in the same container nodule measured 4x3 5x2.5cm with calcifications.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Total thyroidectomy:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Nodular colloid hyperplasia. </strong></li><li><strong>Negative for malignancy. </strong></li></ul>
