Preparations are hemorrhagic and show a dense population of neutrophils with some small lymphocytes as well as many cell debris. No evidence of atypical or malignant cells.
Bilateral chest empyema.
Two samples were received:
1- Rt pleural fluid: 10 ml creamy fluid with pus, one smear was prepared and stained.
2- Lt pleural fluid: 8 ml greyish fluid with pus, one smear was prepared and stained.
