(2) Smears are hemorrhagic and show a moderate number of neutrophils and small lymphocytes with few reactive mesothelial cells. No evidence of atypical or malignant cells.
Distal transverse colon mass.
1- Transverse colectomy specimen 25 cm long On opening it showed a colonic ulcerative, and infiltrative firm tumor 2.5x2.5x2 cm. Tumor reaches to the pericolonic fat grossly. Tumor is 10.5 cm and 12 cm from near and farma rgins respectively. Twenty four regional lymph nodes were dissected, the largest measured 0.6 cm. Attached omentum 9.5x5 cm grossly free of tumors.
2- Two smears were prepared from submitted 10 ml red ascitic fluid.
