Microscopic examination reveals a scanty, highly fragmented D&C specimen with prominent crush artifact, alongside detached unremarkable stratified squamous epithelium in a background of mucus plugs and debris. Within this limited material are focal clusters of irregular, crowded glands demonstrating nuclear atypia (hyperchromasia and pleomorphism). The sparse tissue volume and lack of intact architecture preclude the evaluation of gland-to-stroma relationships, preventing a definitive diagnosis. These glands are suspicious of adenocarcinoma.
