<p class="ql-align-justify">Sections from subcutaneous soft tissues shows dense infiltration by neutrophils, lymphocytes, plasma cells, macrophages and foreign body giant cells with related scattered keratotic cells and moderate fibrosis. Picture is suggestive of an underlying infected epidermal cyst with complete destruction of its lining. No evidence of specific granulomas. No evidence of atypia or malignancy.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">The patient presents with an area of inflammation at the umbilical region, accompanied by scratching and scaling, suspected of fungal.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Soft tissue fragments collectively measured 1.5x1x0.3 cm, totally embedded.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Umbilical lesion, biopsy: </u></em></strong></p><ul><li class="ql-align-justify"><strong>Chronic suppurative inflammation (abscess) possibly complicating inflamed epidermal inclusion cyst. </strong></li><li class="ql-align-justify"><strong>Negative for malignancy.</strong></li></ul>
