<p>Superficial biopsy dominantly shows inflamed colonic mucosa with few tiny foci showing infiltration by malignant tumor formed of irregular crowded glands lined by stratified malignant columnar cells with lost mucigenic activity. Anaplasia and mitosis are moderate. Related stroma shows mild fibrosis. Depth of invasion could not be assessed.</p>
<p>Polypoidal mass lesion at the sigmoid colon.</p>
<p>Fragments of collective size 6x5 mm.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Sigmoid polypoid mass, endoscopic biopsy:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Superficial material, minimally represented adenocarcinoma, grade 2.</strong></li><li><strong>Depth of invasion could not be assessed.</strong></li></ul>
